Feeding your family healthy? It’s not cheap. Fact is, many people skip the vegetable aisle at the grocery store because they think eating fresh is too expensive. Fact is, you can eat fresh and cheap.

The Wednesday Farmers Market at the Volusia County Fairgrounds in DeLand has a plethora of vegetables and fruit at cheaper-than-grocery-store prices.

“Florida Fresh” is A new phone app by University of Florida, will keep you up to date on what’s in season all year long. Find it in theĀ  App Store.

Don’t know how to cook a fresh vegetable or see a vegetable that looks “interesting?” Local growers there are happy to answer questions about their produce.

The market is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday, rain or shine. Parking and admission are free. Sorry, no dogs allowed.
